Create With God – Planning Strategically for the New Year with God as a Mom

Every time I look at my son, I am simply reminded that when I partner with God to create anything it will ALWAYS be a masterpiece. I sometimes just say to my self “God dey create” that’s a Nigerian way of saying God is an amazing masterpiece creator. I wonder how he combined different genes as far back as 3 to 4 Generations to produce this son of mine. In this article, I share my thoughts on Creating with God in times of uncertainty. I also included In Lush meadows Create with God Guide for Moms looking to strategically plan for the year with God.

The Masterpiece that I partnered with God to Create with my Husband *winks*.

We are stepping fully into the new year and the waves of uncertainty more than ever before has significantly increased with the discovery of new COVID-19 variants. We have to cope with new laws, new policies, and new rules regarding interacting with people, work travel, business and so much more. As usual, the worst-hit are the people I call “natural Carers”, “unpaid teachers” and “uncompensated arrangers” “cleaners, party planners, diaper changers, the multitasking gurus, nutrition expert, meal planners, routine planners”- MOTHERS! Women like you and I trying to be Career Boss Babes, entrepreneurs MBA or Master Students, whilst raising healthy and well-rounded children all at the same time in the middle of a global pandemic that has refused to go away. Thank God we have a God who does not forget our Labour of Love.

Like you, I have panicked about how the school year will go. Infact, I have started praying fervently(Naija Style) so much that my child will not come back with any sickness from school so he doesn’t disrupt any of my well-laid plans. Any disruption in school means disruption in my entire activities, work, studies and so much more as I don’t have a support staff at the moment.

As I thought through the year, I came to the conclusion that the only solution is to Plan with God – Create with God! The God who kept Noah in the midst of a mighty terrible storm. A wave that grew in proportions equivalent to hurricanes and swept the entire world. Yes. That’s the God I am planning my year with. I encourage you to do the same!

I can’t promise that I have any solutions or “10 Steps to surviving as a mom in 2022” but I know one thing for sure, I can plan with God and trust that he will guide me through no matter what comes my way including disruptions in school, at home and at work. He is ever sure. Ever constant. Never Changing. Years Change, Seasons come and Go but our God remains the same.

Dear Mom, I encourage you to Create and Plan with God this year. One of the ways to do this is to have systems and routines in place. Carefully written out. It saves you time and energy. The time spent planning and thinking through is nothing compared to you not having your Home Management System in place. Our God is also a God of systems and processes. We have to be like him to be able to function. I usually start my own planning at the end of the year. Some of the things I do include drafting a Daily Personal Routine, Financial Target, Meal Plan or Timetable, Supplies amongst others.

This year Mama, Create with God. When you create with God, It’s like you are building your house on solid rock, on a firm foundation. The wind will come, the storm will come but you will remain unmoved! This song by Cody Carnes & Chandler Moore of Maverick City Choir captures it best

With Love, Morolake Ojuola
