Peep the heavy eyes…
We’ve been on a very Interesting series – Spending time with God through Quiet Time. I enjoyed reading from the amazing moms who shared practical tips. The colourful resources brought so much Joy! However, beyond Quiet time, there is a need to stay connected to God all day. In this short article Morolake – The Chief Playful Strategist @inlushmeadowkids sheds light on this, using a personal life experience. Enjoy!
I slept off…
Some weeks back, my husband was on a work trip so I had the “awesome” opportunity of making things happen on the Homefront lol.
From Drop off to Pick up and everything In between, i had to put on my big girl pants and keep things moving. It was the first time after 2 years of lockdown and restrictions. So I was new to this. Many times I was running like a headless chicken to catch the Bus. On one occasion, I simply gave up and watched the Bus as it sped off only a few meters from where I was. I really wanted to catch that Bus so I could avoid the extra 30 minutes waiting time but as we say here in Germany “mein bus ist weg”!
Anyway, i made it the next bus after lectures. I got home and I had a shot window before pick up time. I knelt down to spend some time with Abba(my Quiet Time as Morning was simply not possible for me).
As I knelt down, played some worship songs on YouTube, ladies and gentlemen….. in a matter of minutes, I was deep in the deep waters of the spirit. You guessed right…
I slept off.
I woke up just in time to catch the Bus. What a wonderful Quiet time. Right ? Lol
The striking things is I got up from that place feeling refreshed . Feeling like I had actually put my head on Abbas chest… , like I had dined with the King of Kings…only this time in the realm of sleep. Is that really Quiet Time? Perhaps… Maybe… Maybe not
Well, I really can’t say myself but I just want to assure that Mom sleeping off, tired, or just juggling and finding it almost impossible to get the time in, even that silence on your knees , even that sleeping off is all part of it. Jesus groaned in the Garden of Gethsamane! God sees you. Abba knows. He sees. He is not a slave master. Yes he wants us to attain that Level of Perfection but he isn’t holding a whip and calculating how many times you slept off lol. Come to me all ye that Labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest… this is his approach….
My point is – As much as we have emphasised the importance of Quiet Time, which is a critical part of our walk and relationship with God, God is available to us 24/7. You have access to him all day everyday. And if you kneel down and sleep off, get back up and continue. If all you can spare is your 1 hour launch time, das ist sehr gut too!
If all you can do within your limited time is 15 minutes with the kids for Quiet Time over the weekend, that’s ok too! If it’s just on the way to work that you sing and talk… Great! God will bless your 2 loaves of Bread and 5 fishes.
God is available to you 24/7. You can reach out to him all day, everyday, every hour, every minute. It doesn’t stop at Quiet Time. Please don’t forget to tell your kids too! They have access to him 24/7!
