Teaching Kids Psalms & Proverbs

Excited and ready to dig into the Book – Wonder & Wisdom – Everyday Reminders from Psalms & Proverbs by @tinytruthsbible

The Psalms and Proverbs are full of powerful life lessons & nuggets that we can apply to our everyday life. Getting the message across to kids can help them make wise decisions. This is why – Wonder & Wisdom – Everyday Reminders from Psalms & Proverbs was created by @tinytruths. It would help you teach your kids God-Centred principles from the Bible in simple relateable ways that kids would really enjoy!

Recently, we had a Praying the Psalms session for the Lush Mom community and it was beautiful to see how the scriptures communicate so many things about life. After the session, I started looking for books that we can use to teach kids psalms in a fun, colourful and exciting way. While doing my research, God brought me in contact with the beautiful people Tim & Jo of @tinytruths. Their Book does justice to the topic! If you are looking for a way to teach your kids the Psalms in a fun, colourful and exciting way, you should check out this book!

For me, connecting with them is a story of God meeting you half way when you take the first step. As a mini Stay at Home, Studying for my Masters Degree Mom (lol), I had just decided to also include reviewing Christian books for children to the list of things I wanted to do at Inlushmeadows as a way to continue to do the work I love with children. I took the step to reach out to them and the rest they say is history.

I was excited to see they have a book specifically on Psalms and Proverbs for kids and after chatting with Jo, I discovered she has some links to my home country Nigeria. My eyes literally lit up! And Jo was kind enough to send us a copy! One thing I can tell you for sure is when you take that step of faith to do what you believe God has asked you to do, God definitely meets you halfway. Just like he did for Peter. Jesus told Peter come (i.e walk on water) and he started walking. Half way through, he almost sank but Jesus was right there to meet him and pick him up. Has God asked you to do something from your small corner like me? It’s scary I know but take that step and watch God meet you half way! Another thing I can confirm is the author has very strong spiritual heritage and I believe it is that heritage that has led her to write this Book.

One thing I can tell you for sure is when you take that step of faith to do what you believe God has asked you to do, God definitely meets you halfway.

If you are looking for a Book to introduce Psalms and Proverbs to your little ones, I’ve got you covered!!! Check out Tiny Truths Psalms and Proverbs from @tinytruths. It’s also available on Amazon

The Psalms and Proverbs have been broken down into tiny portions that allows you teach children easily. Some of the themes covered include – Humility, Integrity, God’s guidance, Forgiveness, Taking Care of God’s Creation, Friendship, Identity in God – God made me amongst others.

This scene made me laugh… but the illustration successfully drives home the point. Even when we were in our mother womb God knew about us

The book is colourful! – I always emphasize this because I believe children need that spark to get their attention + our God is colourful! The illustration is also really unique. It’s not your regular illustration. I love the fact that they tried to make the characters also have brown skin making it relatable to Families like mine.

If you want to focus on the Pslams for your kids, please check them out. They also have a Bible strictly for Toddlers!!!!! Isn’t that just beautiful? The Bible for little ones! I’ll share the review of that shortly. For now, enjoy teaching your kids the Psalms with this amazing resource. I also read the Book to celebrate world Read Aloud day. You can get your kids to watch the video here

With Love, Morolake
