I grew up reading newspapers and writing for my Dad. I quickly became his Personal Assistant (PA) and followed him everywhere sometimes including Business Meetings. He would dictate notes and I would be scampering to write as much my little brain (back then) could grasp. The experience helped build my vocabulary and confidence and I was determined to pass it down to my son.
So as soon as he was around I was looking everywhere for books (In English) and when I even found Books in English, I was confused about where to begin! There are so many books out there and getting “age appropriate Books” is so important.
Reading is also such a powerful skill and like Dr. Seuss says “the more you read, the more things you will know, the more you learn, the more places you will go“.
After much research, I found some really good ones. So today, I’m passing on some of my discoveries to a new mom looking to introduce Books to her little one early or that Dad wondering which Book to buy for the new born in his Life.

An all time Classic that teaches kids a variety of skills. From Days of the Week to Different types of Fruits to shapes and more. Get ready to read it over and over and over and over… I’ve read this book to my son more than 50 times+(and that’s being modest)…

A beautifully written rhyming book that will certainly keep your toddler engaged from beginning to the end. Helps to discover body parts and most importantly helps children know from a very early age, that they are loved and known by God. We’ve had to buy another copy because we have used the life out of the initial one we bought. I handed it over to my son yesterday and he was jumping around! That’s a good sign!

A Classic from Eric Carle and Bill Martin. I absolutely love every single one in this series. They will keep toddlers and even Babies engaged. They teach a variety of skills from the different sounds animals make to Colours to different types of Animals and more. I highly recommend you get the entire Series and read as your child grows…

By the time you and your toddlers are done reading this book, it will become the “anthem” in the house. Creatively written with colour and bold images that will get the attention of both babies and Toddlers. Using Psalm 139 as it’s foundation, it emphasizes the beautiful creation of God – We are made my God! Every Part of our Body was beautifully created by God.

If you’re looking to tell your Toddler the stories of Jesus in a fun and colourful way, then this is your go-to resource! It is Carefully and specifically designed for Toddlers with illustrations to get them involved in the story! We absolutely love it!

I highly recommend a visit to the Zoo after reading this book a number of times. It’s an excellent interactive book that would also help with speech development, the main features of animals, and more.
